ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION
Bar:
We offer two options for beverages at your event.
· “Open Consumption” where the renting party is responsible for the cost of all drinks consumed including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
· “Cash Bar” in which case the renting party’s guests are responsible for their own drink costs.
We charge regular Bluebird bar prices, plus a 20% gratuity on all bar tabs. Either situation can include full bar, beer&wine only, or strictly non-alcoholic beverages including iced tea, coffee and soft drinks priced at $2.50 per person (including refills).
Catering/ Other Food Options:
As a client you are welcome to use any type of outside catering; from deli trays to full catering. We have a list of preferred vendors who we work with on a regular basis and we are happy to coordinate with them to meet your event needs. If you choose to arrange catering yourself*, we require that your caterer supply all plates, flatware, serving pieces, napkins, etc.
Catering set up should be buffet. Depending on the amount of food and number of guests, the caterer may need to bring in an extra service table and their own staff to maintain the food display. The Bluebird seats 72 people at tables, and an additional 30 people at the bar and the row seats. Buffet set up will reduce table space to 60 seats.
We will also be happy to discuss in-house menu options. The Bluebird Café has a small, yet wonderful, kitchen and we can help you create a menu from appetizers to full entrées for your event.
* Please note that if you choose to use a caterer other than one from our approved list, we charge a $150 convenience fee.
Parking:
Please be aware that parking is limited in Green Hills and at The Bluebird Café, especially during the day. For large groups we recommend carpooling and/or bus transportation. Several businesses near the Bluebird Café close around 6:00pm, and do not mind our customers parking in their lots but others are not so friendly. We are happy to advise you on how best to coordinate your guests’ parking for your specific event.
PRIVATE PERFORMANCES:
If you are looking for a uniquely Nashville performance for your group, choosing a songwriter’s In The Round show at the Bluebird Café should be at the top of your list. The Bluebird Café has long standing relationships with award-winning hit songwriters who are available to entertain your group and who represent the soul and spirit of the Bluebird Café.
These rounds feature 3-4 hit songwriters who share the stage and their songs with your group. An intimate experience, these performances offer listeners (your group) the chance to connect with the craft of songwriting as well as giving them an inside peek at the inspirations and stories behind the songs.
Our event planners will work with you to secure hit songwriters who you feel will be a good fit with your group and meet your budget.
These private performances can also include a “Meet&Greet” with the songwriters. To complete your experience, we can provide autographed CDs or copies of The Bluebird Café Scrapbook (a collection of stories from Bluebird founder Amy Kurland and many of The Bluebird’s regular songwriters) to give to your group and the performers can autograph their CDs/scrapbooks after the performance. Please inquire about other collectible Bluebird Café merchandise available for purchase.
*Performances priced upon request.
BLUEBIRD CAFÉ OFFSITE PERFORMANCES:

In addition to these offsite performances that have been open to the public, The Bluebird Café also organizes private offsite performances. These performances have been held in locations as varied as The Country Music Hall of Fame and Cheekwood Botanical Gardens to your very own backyard!
Our event planners will work closely with you to make sure that the “magic” of The Bluebird is translated to your chosen location and that it is in keeping with your vision of the event as a whole.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS:
“TEAM BUILDING THROUGH SONGWRITING”
Writing a song is a natural team building activity. Creativity, communication, humor, leadership, compromise, shared goals and fun are all part of the process of songwriting. Led by award winning hit songwriters, our team building events get everyone involved as inhibitions melt away and corporate ideas and themes are documented for posterity.
Using the melody of a well known hit song, or making one up on the spot, each group writes an original lyric, creating a complete song. Once the ideas start flowing there's always plenty of participation and enthusiasm. Team members are a part of something personal and memorable. When the songs are complete the entire group joins in recording the song. A souvenir CD with your company logo on it is included.
We customize each of our events to fit your needs, tailoring the program based on time, group size and your desired goals.
“HOW NASHVILLE BECAME
MUSIC CITY”
Noted author and media personality Robert K. Oermann will survey the developments over the past 200 years of Nashville's history that led to its becoming world renowned as a music center. The formation of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, the founding of the Christian music-publishing business, the importance of the Grand Ole Opry, the establishment of Music Row and the explosion of country music's popularity in the 1990s will be among the many topics covered during these informative and entertaining sessions.
“THE HISTORY OF THE BLUEBIRD CAFÉ”
When Amy Kurland opened the doors to the Bluebird Café, little did she know that one day it would one of the best acoustic listening rooms in music history. Since its opening of June 1982, the club has inspired not only a television series and numerous webcasts, but a feature film, The Thing Called Love, and a series of Bluebird On The Road concerts.
Founder Amy Kurland presents her favorite memories of the first twenty five years of the cafe. Hear the “behind the scenes” stories about Don Schlitz, Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis, Beth Neilsen Chapman, Kenny Chesney, Tony Arata, Bob DiPiero, Hugh Prestwood, Garth Brooks, and many more.
The above events can be combined or can be custom designed as an event with your group’s specific needs in mind.
