Alan Rhody

Alan Rhody is a Kentucky native whose songs have crossed genres and won awards for more than four-decades. The Nashville based singer-songwriter released his tenth independent album in 2017 and has been touring since the mid 1970s. His music has been featured on NPR's "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered" along with folkd, country and roots radio stations around the world. He's made numerous network TV appearances in the U.S. and Canada and conducts songwriting workshops whenever possible, in his travels. Rhody is also an art college graduate and accomplished painter and graphic artists.

Over the years his songs have been recorded by others, as well. Most recently, The Del McCoury Band, with his hard-driving "That Ol' Train" (co writtern with Ronny Scaife) on their newest CD, May 25, 2018. Just prior to that, two of his songs were recorded by multiple IMBA award winners, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper. Others who've topped the charts and made hits of his songs linclude: Oak Ridge Boys (I'll Be True To You); Lorrie Morgan (Trainwreck of Emotion); Ricky Van Shelton (Wild-Eyed Dream); Del McCoury (Trainwreck of Emotion); Toby Keith, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood (Christmas to Christmas) plus others by George Jones, Suzy Boggus, Atlana Rhythm Section, Hoyt Axton, Michael Martin Murphey, Don Gibson, Kevin Welch, John Schneider, CCMA inductees, The Good Brothers and Murray McLauchlan (also a serious rocker) and Main's David Mallett.
