Scott Southworth

Originally hailing from the great Pacific Northwest, Flaming Tortuga Records Artist Scott is an award winning Nashville based performing singer/songwriter, a 4 time Top 30 charting recording artist in Europe and the creator/co-host of Radio/TV's "The Music Row Show". As a writer, Scott has had over 80 Independent Cuts and was recently named Country Music People Magazine's "Indie Songwriter of the Year for 2018". Singles from his most recent two CD's; "The Last Honky Tonk In Town" and "Hey Hillbilly Singer" have seen chart success across Europe and radio play across the USA as well. He is a 5 time AWA nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year and Pure Country Album of the Year. March of 2019 Scott's album "Hey Hillbilly Singer!" was awarded the "Pure Country Album of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artists and the "Horizon Award for Country Album" by the NACMAI (North American Country Music Association International). "The Last Honky Tonk In Town" recently earned the #13 slot in the "Top 25 Albums of the Decade" by Country Music People Magazine. Scott's new, full length CD "These Old Bones" drops on 7/20/20. Scott is proud to be an endorsed Larrivee Guitar artist and an endorsed Schertler Pickups artist.

He performs regularly in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner and the Commodore Grille as well as house concerts and many songwriting festivals around the country and overseas, recently headlining festivals in France, Spain, Norway and Germany.

Scott has been a featured performer on RFD TV's nationally televised “Penny Gilley Show”, "Market Day Report", the nationally syndicated "Chico & B-Man" Television Show, NBC's "Today In Nashville" and has been a featured artist on WSM Radio's "Coffee, Country & Cody", "Nashville Today w/Devon O Day", "The Allnighter" with Marcia Campbell, "Ernest Tubb's Midnight Jamboree", Knoxville's "The Writers Block", several performances on WDVX's "Blue Plate Special" and "Tennessee Shines" as well as many other local TV and Radio programs across the US.

Scott has written and co-written more than 80 Indy cuts for artists as well as Independent films. His first major label cut was part of Amanda Cook's "Deep Water", her first major Bluegrass release with Mountain Fever Records.

He has released 5 solo songwriting projects. "The Last Honky Tonk In Town" dropped August of 2016 to rave reviews across Europe and the UK! Country Music People Magazine named him their September 2016 "Honky Tonker Of The Month" and his songs "Whiskey Bottle" and "Whiskey In Heaven" were tied for the #1 spot on the UK's "Kicking Cuts Chart" as compiled by CMP in September 2016! In late October, his first official single "Whiskey Bottle" was released to European radio and in November debuted at #27 on the Irish Country Music charts, made it up to #3 on the SwissTex charts as well as being picked up by several BBC UK presenters.

Scott kept the ball rolling, releasing a new full length CD of all new, original Traditional Country Music in May of 2018. "Hey Hillbilly Singer!" Has already received rave reviews and seen European radio chart success including CMP Magazine's May "Honky Tonker of the Month" and topping their 'Kickin' Cuts Chart! SavingCountryMusic.com gives the CD 8/10 and says "If you don't like Scott Southworth, you don't like Country Music!" and Robert K Oermann of MusicRow.com calls the title track "... a bawling, honky-Tonk, beer drinkin' blazer. It doesn't get more in-your-face Country than this."

In July 2020, Scott released his latest CD, "These Old Bones", this time under the newly formed Indie Label Flaming Tortuga Records. The first single, "Brown Liquor" topped the Indie Express Country Singles Chart for August and the album has already received rave reviews from several publications and websites including Saving Country Music.com and Country Music People Magazine...earning his 3rd consecutive "Honky Tonker of the Month Title and topping the CMP "Kickin' Cuts" Chart!
