Bill Whyte

Originally from Missouri, Bill Whyte is a multi-talented songwriter, comedian, Hall of Fame radio personality, and performer.

He has recorded two comedy albums—Off the Wall and Leave ’Em Laughin’—showcasing his sharp wit and musical humor.

As a songwriter, Bill’s credits span multiple genres and award-winning projects. He co-wrote “Safe Haven,” recorded by Hillary Scott & The Scott Family for their Grammy-winning album Love Remains (Best Contemporary Christian Album, 2016).

His catalog also includes “Crickets,” the title track of Joe Nichols’ album; “Retired” by Ray Stevens; “Goin’ Ugly Early” by Cledus T. Judd; and “Finger Pickin’ Good” by Kristy Cox featuring legendary guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, which won the 2020 Golden Guitar Award for Best Bluegrass Recording in Australia. Additional cuts include “Grand Ole Circle” by Darin and Brooke Aldridge and the #1 gospel bluegrass single “Blue Collar Gospel” by Jerry Salley and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Bill is also celebrated for his long-running career in morning radio. He is a CMA Award winner for Best Large Market Radio Personality and was inducted into the Country Radio Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2012, the industry’s highest honor.

Onstage, Bill performs nationwide with two acclaimed songwriting trios—Hits & Grins (with Steve Dean and Victoria Venier) and Evening in the Round (with Grammy winner Linda Davis and Lang Scott)—in addition to numerous solo shows.
