daena
Nashville-based, queer indie pop/rock artist daena is on a mission: to explore love, truth and vulnerability through her music - and also, have some fun. Her debut album “Alter Ego” is a bold artist statement challenging imposter syndrome and channeling selfconfidence. The record features a vulnerable love ballad written for her now wife, a danceable recollection of her one and only summer fling, and an emotional apology to a childhood best friend - all totally valid manifestations of a quarter-life crisis.
daena’s songs have been featured on Nashville’s Lightning 100 and Acme Radio, in local magazine Nashville Scene, and played at local spots from Musician’s Corner to the Bluebird Cafe and The Lipstick Lounge. Her single "Close Isn’t Enough" has organically amassed over a million streams on Spotify. She's also worked with the It Gets Better Project as an official TikTok creator and has racked up over 32k followers of her own.
As a songwriter, she’s written with and had songs cut by artists as versatile as Catie Turner, queer pop artists Marielle Kraft, Kate Yeager and Kimmie Devereux, singer/ songwriter Madds Buckley, country-pop songstress Kären McCormick + more, with "10x Better" (Marielle Kraft) surpassing 2 million streams and landing on Spotify’s “New Pop Picks” and “RADAR Global” playlists.
daena’s next single, “Vampire Girl”, is set to release this coming October, just in time for Halloween!
