Artists

Doug Johnson

Whether it’s behind the pen as the writer of record-breaking hits like the Billboard “Song of the Year,” Love Like Crazy (Lee Brice) or the CMA, ACM, CCMA and NSAI “Song of the Year,” Three Wooden Crosses, (Randy Travis), at the console as the producer of artists like Lee Brice, Hank Jr., Clay Walker and John Michael Montgomery, or behind the desk helming an A&R department, Doug Johnson knows his way around a hit. Throughout his 30-plus year career as a songwriter, Johnson has had over 100 cuts, including 7 Number One Hits and 10 Top 10’s by everyone from Bertie Higgins and Alicia Bridges to George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, Wynonna and Kenny Rogers, among others. Johnson made history when he broke a country music record with artist Lee Brice with the hit, Love Like Crazy, which spent an amazing 56 weeks on the charts.  His production credits are equally notable as well: as VP/A&R for Epic Records in the early 90’s, he oversaw the careers of Patty Loveless, Collin Raye, Doug Stone, Joe Diffie, Ty Herndon, the Sons of the Desert and many others. He later moved to Giant Records as President, where he guided the careers of Clay Walker, The Wilkinsons, Blake Shelton, Joe Nichols and Neal McCoy among others.  Following his time at Giant Records, Johnson lead the A&R department of Curb Records, whose roster included Tim McGraw, Leann Rimes, Wynonna, Hank Jr, Rodney Atkins, Lee Brice, Clay Walker and Heidi Newfield, among others.  In 2012, Doug Johnson joined the team at Black River Entertainment as the V.P. of A&R and is currently working with the artist roster of Kelsea Ballerini, Abby Anderson, Carolina Story, Hannah Kerr and Josh Wilson.

Pryor Baird

Pryor Baird has done it all. He learned to play the guitar as a toddler, fronted a band in high school, moved to music city to start a solo career in country music, evolved from bluesy country solo contestant on NBC's "The Voice" into a soulful country-rock duo, all the while perfecting his authority as a guitar-wielding country-rock artist. Pryor Baird- an Orcutt, California, native - was captivated by guitar when he saw his uncle strumming in the kitchen. He was barely a toddler, and more than 30 years later, he remembers the man was sitting in the old green chair. Pryor hurried past the hutch and sat down in front of his uncle to stare at the strings. "I was completely enamored," Pryor says. "It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen." Pryor was 3 years old when he asked for a guitar and started lessons six months later. His parents got him a Fender amplifier that clipped to his belt loop, and he walked around playing in the wide-open space surrounding his home.   After graduation, Baird moved to San Diego and played with a couple of different groups before starting a band of his own. The newly formed band, Pryor Baird and the Deacons, played five nights a week for almost a decade, and he supplemented his income tending bar. The job ended, and unsure and nervous, he went to talk to his dad and told him he was moving to Nashville. Two weeks later, Baird sold everything except 10 guitars, an amplifier, a suitcase and his bed, which he strapped on top of his Ford F-150 truck. The bluesy singer and guitarist didn't know anyone in Music City but made the cross-country drive to give it a shot. At the time, he got a job waiting tables before shifting to construction work. He started to question himself. His friend recommended him for "The Voice." Two weeks later, he was in Los Angeles to play a blind audition. He got a four-chair turn, joined Team Blake, and ultimately made it to Season 14's Top six. Following his return to Nashville, a never-ending passion combined with his tireless work ethic, paid off and God stepped in. Baird signed a recording and publishing deal with Black River Entertainment in 2020.

Bobby Terry

Bobby Terry is known for his talents as a multi-instrumentalist. His reputation for playing all of the instruments on almost every record he produces has made him a highly sought after session player. Bobby has worked with Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Montgomery Gentry, Alison Krauss, Toby Keith, Alabama, Faith Hill, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Toni Braxton, Ginuwine, Hank Williams, and numerous other leading musicians.

Scotty Hasting

Scotty is a combat wounded Army Infantryman, actor and Nashville singer/songwriter. Shot 10 times while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2011, Scotty is the epitome of resilience. He suffered nerve damage in his right arm/hand and multiple other injuries. Before music he used the sport of archery to assist him with his injuries as a form of therapy both physical and mental. Since then he has moved on to find solace in a new form of therapy, music. Scotty uses guitar and music as a way to help him cope with the struggles being to war brings. He still has limited mobility in his right strumming hand. Scotty has written with multiple known country artists, veteran singer/songwriters and up-and-comers in the country music world. He loves to write songs, and also enjoys playing live at local bars throughout Nashville and the surrounding area. Scotty's shows are a lot of fun, he is a great entertainer, he loves to put on a show, and to get the crowd involved.
