There are 18 tables, 8 bar seats and 8 church pew seats available for reservation. The remaining pew seats for this show are not reserved in advance. These seats are available on a first come/first served basis when doors open.
Ticket reservations at The Bluebird Cafe are an agreement to pay the cover charge and applicable taxes/fees and to meet the $15.00 per seat food and/or drink minimum. There is a 6 seat maximum per ticket order.
Ticket holders may cancel their reservation for a full refund of the ticket price and applicable tax (excluding ticketing fees) if the cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the scheduled showtime. Jay Patten
Jay has had a career as a solo artist, songwriter and studio saxophonist in Los Angeles and Nashville playing on recordings for people like Johnny Cash, Bill Anderson, Riders In The Sky, Lobo, David Loggins, Delbert McClinton, Leon Russell, Nanci Griffith and Crystal Gayle. He was awarded the NARAS "Super Pickers" award for musicianship.
Crystal Gayle took notice and hired Jay. He has been Crystal Gayle's bandleader/music director for over three decades, playing saxophones, guitar, vocals and mandolin. Jay has appeared with Crystal on some of the world's greatest stages including the London Palladium, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and many more. Jay has conducted over 50 symphony orchestras for her including the Chicago Symphony, The Philadelphia Pops Orchestra and The United States Navy Band.
Jay is a graduate of the Berklee College Of Music and was honored with The Berklee Distinguished Alumnus Award.
After college, Jay toured the world as lead vocalist and guitarist with the new Glenn Miller Orchestra with jazz clarinetist Buddy DeFranco as leader. Jay is featured on the "Live At Royal Festival Hall" album.
Jay is featured in the movie documentary "BLUEBIRD" because he's the first artist to perform at Nashville's famous Bluebird Cafe, and he and his band have hosted the Anniversary and Holiday Shows every year since 1982. Guest artists who have appeared with Jay's band include Vince Gill, Rita Coolidge, John Prine, Larry Gatlin and many more.
Roger Cook
Roger Cook's songwriting career has two distinct chapters. The first was as a prolific British pop composer with his collaborator Roger Greenaway. They created "You've Got Your Troubles," "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" and many other hits, as well as a series of Coca-Cola commercials that included the enormously popular "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." After moving to Nashville in 1975, Cook had a second career as the writer of country hits for Crystal Gayle, Don Williams, George Strait and others.In the 1950s and early 1960s, Roger Cook sang in a number of pop acts, including the Sapphires, the Londons and Jon & Julie. In 1965, he joined Roger Greenaway in the Kestrels, and the two became a songwriting team. Their first big successes were "You've Got Your Troubles," sung by the Fortunes, and "Green Grass," recorded by Gary Lewis & the Playboys in the U.S.
When the Kestrels broke up, the two Rogers formed the singing duo David & Jonathan. They had several hits and also worked as backup vocalists in British recording studios. The singing duo ended in 1968, but the Cook-Greenaway songwriting partnership continued.
Cook joined Blue Mink in 1969. The group subsequently became very popular in the U.K., often performing Cook-Greenaway songs. He also joined the other former Kestrels members to record as the studio-only groups Edison Lighthouse, the Pipkins and Brotherhood of Man.
The writers' next big U.S. success occurred with "My Baby Loves Lovin'," a hit for White Plains in 1970. "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" became a worldwide musical phenomenon in 1972. "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" (the Hollies), "Doctor's Orders" (Carol Douglas) and other hits ensued. Cook and Greenaway were named Britain's Songwriters of the Year in both 1971 and 1972.
Blue Mink broke up in 1974. Cook migrated to the U.S. He was unhappy during brief stints in both New York and Los Angeles and settled in Nashville in late 1975. Crystal Gayle took his "Talking in Your Sleep" to the top of the country charts in 1978. It was named BMI's Country Song of the Year. In 1998, ASCAP named "One Night at a Time," a #1 for George Strait, as its Country Song of the Year. "I Believe in You" (Don Williams, 1980) and "Love Is on a Roll" (Don Williams, 1983) are among his numerous other country successes.
Mike Loudermilk
Mike Loudermilk has been making music most of his life. He started his musical career when his first song, an instrumental, was recorded by guitar legend Chet Atkins, who invited him to Nashville to play on the session. Atkins offered then to sponsor him in Nashville, but approved of Mike’s decision to return to Louisiana and finish his education in music theory and guitar.Mike made his way back to Nashville where he began playing music full time. As an artist, he has recorded several albums internationally. He has performed on numerous television shows and specials and has played on world stages from the London Palladium to the Crazy Horse Saloon, and from the casinos of Las Vegas to the White House.
Mike has had songs recorded by Tracy Lawrence, Chet Atkins, Crystal Gayle, and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown to name a few. He also worked with Crystal Gayle for many years and co-produced Crystal’s “Midnight In The Desert,” a song they wrote for the international radio talk show “Coast to Coast AM.” The song was nominated for a NAMA (Native American Music Award) for “Song of the Year” in 2002. He is now concentrating on songwriting and producing at his studio "Nashville Sound Project House." There he has recorded, co-written, and arranged songs with some of Nashville's biggest hit songwriters.
Mike has also performed at fund raisers for Aids and Cancer Research, National MS Society, and St. Jude Children Hospital along side of country music's most talented singer/songwriters.

Darrell Clanton
Darrell was born in Indiana and then moved with his family to Tampa Bay, Florida at a very early age. Tiki bars were everywhere in those days, so he started playing music in Beach Bars and Clubs at the tender young age of sixteen. It wouldn’t be too long before he began writing songs and in 1979, he moved to Nashville, TN.
Hired by Pete and Rose Drake, he became a staff songwriter at the Window Music Company that same year. It was not long before his songwriting began to take off and many of his songs were recorded by Nashville Artists. During this 5-year period of time Darrell Clanton's songs were recorded by: BJ Thomas, Charlie Louvin, Bobby Vinton, Jean Shepard, The Wilburn Brothers, Stonewall Jackson, and Jett Williams.
However, it was in 1984 that Darrell’s luck went into high gear. Darrell Clanton's recording of a song written by Justin Tubb was a Radio hit in 1984. The song, (Lonesome 7-7203) began to climb the Billboard charts and Darrell was signed to Warner Brothers records and was nominated by the Academy of Country Music for the New Male Vocalist award that same year. He performed at the Grand Ole Opry five times in 1984 - and Darrell said, “that had the biggest impact ever, on my life.”
