From emptying garbage cans to selling merch and managing major tours out on the road, Houston Phillips has seen the music business from just about every angle and is a true success story in the Nashville songwriting community. Armed with strong relationships built on tour, Houston first introduced his songwriting talents to the world through major cuts on Jerrod Niemann and Tyler Farr and landed his first publishing deal with Dallas Davidson at Play It Again Publishing.
As one of the newest additions to the Curb|Word family of writers, Houston has a natural ability to drive a well-crafted commercial country lyric supported by hooky melodies. He’s most inspired by veteran writers he can continue learning from, collaborators that help lock in memorable melodies, and great vocalists who bring the music to life.
Houston’s decision to step off of the tour bus with a fresh focus on writing full-time has also landed him cuts on Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Heath Sanders, Colt Ford, Aaron Lewis, Dillon Carmichael, Walker Montgomery, JoJo Mason, Trent Tomlinson, and many more.
