Jack Sundrud

Jack Sundrud is a respected Nashville songwriter, bassist and singer. He is currently touring and recording with Cimarron 615, a band comprised of former Poco members Michael Webb, Tom Hampton and Rick Lonow and former Foster and Lloyd member, Bill Lloyd. Their latest album, “Brand New Distance” is available now through the band's website (cimarron615.com) or from any streaming location.

Sundrud moved to Nashville in 1981, where he quickly became bassist/vocalist for some of Music City's top touring acts: Vince Gill, Dickie Betts, Bobby Whitlock, Gail Davies, The O'Kanes, Nicolette Larson, Kathy Mattea, and others - before spending most of the next 30 years recording and touring with venerable country-rock pioneers, Poco.

Between stints with Poco, Jack's songs were brought to the attention of the Judd's producer, Brent Maher. This led to the formation of Great Plains (also featuring Russ Pahl, Denny Bixby and Michael Young) an edgy country-rock band fronted by Sundrud, who recorded for Columbia Records. The band's single release, “Faster Gun” became a top 25 radio hit in 1992.

As a songwriter, Jack co-wrote (with Michael Johnson) 4Runners breakout hit, “Cain's Blood” and Ty Herndon's #1, “It Must Be Love” (with Craig Bickhardt). His songs have also been recorded by: Kenny Rogers, The Judds, Ricochet, The Persuasions, Michael Johnson and many more.
