Josh Grider knows the long road. Twenty something years since his first band played their first gigs at a dive bar in Waco, TX, Josh keeps turning over new pages in what has become quite the musical journey. The Las Cruces, NM native was born into a blue collar, classic country music home. He spent his teenage years obsessed with 90s country radio, and in college was turned on to (and eventually became part of) the Robert Earl Keen / Pat Green led Texas music wave of the late 90s and early aughts. Teaching himself guitar in high school and penning his first songs in college, there has never been anything else on Josh’s mind other than having a career in the music business.
As an artist Josh may not be a household name, but after cutting his teeth in his college band and spending a few years in Austin kicking over every musical rock he could find, he has quietly racked up 7 number one singles on the Texas Music Radio. He has had his songs streamed multiple millions of times, had them featured in major TV shows (Nashville, The Ranch), and has toured the country playing his songs in clubs and at major festivals—no small feat for the indie artist.
Though touring remains a large part of Josh’s career, lately his focus has been shifting. In signing with Major Bob Music, Josh has been given the opportunity to grow as a writer / producer and spend more time in the studio working behind the scenes with up and coming artists. Writing has always been a huge part of Josh’s career, and he’s had cuts with some of Texas’ finest - Walt Wilkins, Drew Kennedy, Jason Eady - but this new chapter in Josh’s career has him even more focused and excited to fully engage in his favorite part of the creative process.
Josh splits time between Tennessee and Texas and wears all the hats—husband, father, brother, son, writer, producer, artist. If it sounds like a lot, it is, but Josh wouldn’t have it any other way.
