Kevin McKendree

A self-taught student of both guitar and piano, Kevin gained notice in the late '80s, backing touring blues acts as they made their way through the Washington D.C. area. The pianist landed a gig on a European tour supporting local blues legend Tom Principato and when it conflicted with his final exams at nearby Virginia Commonwealth University, Kevin closed the books and got on a plane.

After a three-and-a-half year stint as a professional musician, he returned to school, but only briefly. Flip-flopping between touring and trying to hold down a "respectable" job, the pianist jumped at the chance to work as part of Lee Roy Parnell’s band. Kevin moved to Nashville with Lee Roy, in 1994, and began working with Delbert in 1997.

Kevin McKendree is a keyboardist, guitarist, producer, songwriter and engineer. His playing can be heard on hundreds of commercial recordings, including more than a dozen Grammy winning or nominated albums. He has toured and/or recorded with Delbert McClinton, Lee Roy Parnell, Brian Setzer, Brooks & Dunn, John Oates, Joe Bonamassa, George Benson, Buddy Guy, Little Richard, Etta James, Black Stone Cherry, John Hiatt, Hal Ketchum, George Thorogood, Seven Mary Three, The Kentucky Headhunters and many others.
