E Marlowe

E Marlowe came to Nashville by way of Athens, Georgia, and her indie rock roots show in her unique songwriting style. She has been penning songs since age twelve, everything from hard rock to Americana. By the age of twenty, she had already fronted a popular all-girl rock band and played bass in a jazz ensemble. In the early 2000s, E began making frequent writing trips to Nashville and within three years of moving to town, she was offered her first major publishing deal with RareSpark Media Group. E built her reputation in the Nashville community by writing “real” songs, and has been fortunate to establish co-writing relationships with other songwriters and artists who come from the same place. She met and started writing with current country radio star Walker Hayes a few years ago, helped convince him to join her at RareSpark, and credits the “Walker Hayes shack sessions” with strengthening her songwriting versatility. During her years as a staff songwriter, E built a huge catalog of radio friendly country/pop songs. But she had come so far from the “real” songs that got her signed in the first place. She could see that nobody really knew who she was as an artist. She wanted to share that side with the world, and working with producers Ren Renfree and Park Chisolm, her debut Americana CD “Send In The Mourners” was born. E has had several independent cuts and placements, including the first single and CMT video from Canadian country artist Nicole Rayy’s debut CD, and multiple cuts with the Oregon-based duo Cloverdayle. She is also a past winner of the CMT/NSAI Song Contest. E's influences include artists Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Carole King and Tom Petty. She collects vintage guitars, bakes a mean pie and can usually be found dodging cars to rescue dogs.
