Jamie Teachenor
Jamie Teachenor is an award-winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter, and producer who has written songs for and recorded with major artists such as Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Collin Raye, Trisha Yearwood, Joey + Rory, Gretchen Wilson, Kenny G, Vince Gill, Warrant, Lynyrd Skynyrd, National Symphony Orchestra, and rock-n-roll legend, Jerry Lee Lewis. As a singer, his first appearance on the charts was Blake Shelton’s 2003 hit single, Playboys of the Southwestern World, and as a songwriter, Blaine Larsen’s 2005 debut hit single, How Do You Get That Lonely—a song addressing teenage suicide. Recently, he appeared on the charts with Rory Feek's 2021 co-written release, Met Him in a Motel Room, featuring Trisha Yearwood. Teachenor found his place in American military history when he composed Semper Supra, the official anthem for the sixth and newest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, the United States Space Force (adopted September 2022).

As an independent recording artist, Jamie has achieved success in the US and internationally with multiple projects—Teachenor Clark’s Never Gonna Stand For This (2010); The Departure (2012); Waiting Room – EP (2013); Lo-Fi’s Lo-Fidelity (2014); Vintage Heart (featuring Vince Gill) (2014); Suitcases (2016); the Air Force Academy Band - Wild Blue Country’s, Here We Are (2016) and Wild Blue Country's debut radio single, Here We Are (2018)--the first charting radio single by a military band in history. He has been showcased in the International Rock-a-Billy Hall of Fame, the Clement Railroad Museum's Heritage in Music exhibit, and declared a Tennessee Iconic Musician by the Southern Museum of Music.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Teachenor was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his “Act of Courage'' in saving the life of a fellow airman during the fifth week of his military career. While serving in the USAF, he worked with the Air Force Academy, Space Command, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), U.S. Northern Command, and the Pentagon, to establish and maintain relationships with NASA, the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, PBR, PRCA, Grand Prix, and the NCAA—increasing the branch’s annual audience reach by 45 million. He strengthened and improved America’s relationship with 27 allied nations–the entire Western Hemisphere: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, and the United Kingdom, Denmark, Greenland, Australia, France, Germany, and Japan–meeting one-on-one with the Japanese Parliament. Additionally, he was chosen to collaborate with a small task force to edit and update the Air Force Academy’s Alma Mater–known as the Third Verse of the U.S. Air Force Song (adopted February 2020) and the official U.S. Air Force service song Wild Blue Yonder (adopted May 2020). For his final active-duty assignment, he was selected as the Military Corporate Fellow for the U.S. Senate–beginning his fellowship with the U.S. House of Representatives. Other awards and decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal for “Outstanding Achievement,” Recognition Ribbon with 2 devices, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, Below-The-Zone Promotion, Air Force Outstanding Public Affairs New Musician of the Year, and Airman of the Year. In 2022, Teachenor was awarded the iChange Nations (ICN) Builders in Action Legacy Award.
Teachenor earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Oakland City University, his M.B.A. from Troy University, and his Ph.D. from Liberty University–where he was named Graduate with Distinction. His 2022 dissertation was titled, A Phenomenological Study of Trauma, Creativity, Resilience, and Artistic Inspiration. He is a TEDx Speaker, serves as professor of songwriting and music business, is a visual artist, an ordained deacon, and was elected as County Commissioner in 2022 as a write-in candidate—the first in the history of Sumner County, Tennessee. The son of Rock-A-Billy Hall of Famer, Jim Teachenor, Jamie is married to best-selling author/novelist and educator, Jen Teachenor. They are the parents of two children, Charlie and Lily.
